Privacy Policy for the VoD Platform dok@home (www.dok-at-home.de)

We are delighted that you are interested in our VoD platform dok@home (www.dok-at-home.de). The protection of your personal data is of particular importance to the management of International Documentary Film Festival Munich e.V., the operator of this platform.

The use of dok@home is generally possible without providing any personal data. However, if a data subject wishes to use specific services offered via our platform, the processing of personal data may become necessary. Where such processing is required and no other legal basis exists, we will always obtain the data subject’s consent.

The processing of personal data—such as the name, address, email address or telephone number of a data subject—is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and in compliance with the country-specific data protection regulations applicable to International Documentary Film Festival Munich e.V.
With this privacy policy, our festival aims to inform the public about the nature, scope and purpose of the personal data we collect, use and process. Additionally, it informs data subjects of their rights.

Each time our VoD platform dok@home is accessed by a data subject or an automated system, a range of general data and information is collected and stored in the server’s log files.
The following data may be collected:

  • Browser type and version usedOperating system of the accessing device

  • Subpages accessed on our platform

  • Date and time of access

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address

  • Internet service provider of the accessing system

  • Other similar data and information relevant for security in the event of cyberattacks

This information is required to:

  • Deliver the content of our platform correctly

  • Ensure long-term operability and security of our IT systems

  • Optimize the platform’s functionality

  • Provide law enforcement authorities with necessary information in the event of a cyberattack

The anonymously collected data is statistically evaluated by International Documentary Film Festival Munich e.V.in order to improve data protection and security on our platform.

3. Contact via the Platform

The dok@home platform includes options for quick electronic contact and direct communication. If a data subject contacts us via email or through a contact form, any personal data voluntarily provided is automatically stored and used exclusively for processing the inquiry.

4. Routine Deletion and Blocking of Personal Data

We process and store personal data only for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose of storage, or as required by law. Once the purpose no longer applies or a statutory retention period expires, the data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

6. Use of Cookies

dok@home uses cookies to improve user experience and platform functionality. Cookies are small text files stored locally in your browser’s cache.

You can prevent cookies from being stored at any time by adjusting your browser settings and can also delete cookies already stored. Please note that some features of the platform may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

7. Web Analytics Tool Matomo (formerly Piwik)

We use the Matomo web analytics tool on dok@home to anonymously evaluate user behaviour. No data is transmitted to third parties. IP addresses are stored only in a truncated form. You can opt out of data collection by Matomo at any time.


8. Data Protection Provisions for Payment Service Providers

We use payment service providers such as Stripe or PayPal to process transactions on dok@home (e.g., ticket purchases or film downloads). Payment data such as names, account information, or credit card details are transmitted directly to the respective provider. We do not receive or store complete payment information.

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR as necessary for the performance of a contract.


9. Use of 1o1 for Streaming and Payment Processing

For the provision of streaming services and payment processing on dok@home, we use the services of the third-party provider 1o1 (1o1 Media GmbH, Germany). When you stream content or make a payment on our platform, relevant data such as IP addresses, access times, and (where applicable) payment-related data are transmitted to 1o1 as part of the technical processing of these services.

This processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and efficient service delivery).

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with 1o1 in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR to ensure that your data is handled in compliance with data protection regulations.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time with future effect. The current version is available at all times on dok@home.
