GRANDMA – France 1996 – Director(s) Catherine Bernstein – 58 min – Spoken languages: French, German – Subtitles: German

The director’s grandmother and her friends are called upon to recall their youth in the Nazi era.

They were born in 1914 and all grew up in Kassel, in the heart of Germany. They attended the same class throughout their school years and graduated in 1934. After the war, they met regularly for class reunions. How did they experience the war and National Socialism? The granddaughter of one of them asks them more than fifty years later.
